A Legacy of Art & Design

Baga 06 was not born from a moment. It was built upon a lifetime.

Its story begins with Herminia Calvillo, whose professional life in interior design spanned more than five decades.

Beginning her career at just 18 years old, Herminia developed an extensive practice through Bagatella, working across residential and commercial interiors with an international perspective, a rigorous attention to detail and an enduring belief that beauty and functionality should exist in harmony.

Alongside her professional career, art remained a deeply personal passion — a world she continuously explored, collected and brought into the spaces she created. What began as a passion alongside design gradually became an increasingly important part of her creative life.

After concluding a career in interior design at 75, her creative journey was far from over.

At 79, she founded Baga 06 Art Gallery.

The gallery transformed a lifelong passion for art into a new platform for artists, collectors and contemporary culture. In many ways, Baga 06 became a natural continuation of the world Herminia had spent decades creating — one where art, design and space were never separate conversations.

Today, Baga 06 carries that legacy into a new generation, evolving from its roots in Mexico City toward an increasingly international program of exhibitions, artist representation, collecting and cultural collaborations.

The vision evolves. The passion remains.
