Stronger
Than Ever
Contemporary art, private collecting and international projects from Mexico City.
A gallery shaped by vision, dialogue and lasting relationships.
Founded in Mexico City, Baga 06 presents contemporary art through exhibitions, private acquisitions, curatorial collaborations and collectible works by Mexican and international artists.
Its exhibition history includes participation at START Art Fair at Saatchi Gallery in London and SCOPE New York. Today, the gallery continues to expand its international program through strategic alliances, collector services and projects connecting art, design and culture.
Baga 06 was not born from a moment. It was built upon a lifetime.
Its story begins with Herminia Calvillo, whose professional life in interior design spanned more than five decades.
Beginning her career at just 18 years old, Herminia developed an extensive practice through Bagatella, working across residential and commercial interiors with an international perspective, a rigorous attention to detail and an enduring belief that beauty and functionality should exist in harmony.
Alongside her professional career, art remained a deeply personal passion — a world she continuously explored, collected and brought into the spaces she created. What began as a passion alongside design gradually became an increasingly important part of her creative life.
After concluding a career in interior design at 75, her creative journey was far from over.
The gallery transformed a lifelong passion for art into a new platform for artists, collectors and contemporary culture. In many ways, Baga 06 became a natural continuation of the world Herminia had spent decades creating — one where art, design and space were never separate conversations.
Today, Baga 06 carries that legacy into a new generation, evolving from its roots in Mexico City toward an increasingly international program of exhibitions, artist representation, collecting and cultural collaborations.
Mexico City connected to a wider art world.
Baga 06 continues to expand its international reach through strategic relationships, artist collaborations and collector networks connecting Mexico with Europe and other global art centers.
This international direction strengthens Baga 06’s global presence while shaping a focused program rooted in contemporary dialogue, cultural exchange and a distinctly Mexico City point of view.
